The people behind the What Ifs.
Veterans, clinicians, scientists, technologists and people with lived experience, each bringing something different to the same question.
Different lives. Different what-if questions. One mission.
MyWhatIf did not begin with a formed team. People saw something they believed could matter and brought what they knew. Science. Clinical experience. Technology. Governance. Storytelling. Lived experience. What brought them together was a shared purpose, mission and vision.
Board of directors
None of them needed another commitment. They took this one because the mission is personal to them too. Their job is to steward the Foundation, protect its purpose, and help make sure what we build can endure.
Entrepreneur, storyteller, technologist, and trauma survivor. Omer founded MyWhatIf after his own experience led him to a central question: can we help people regain the ability to imagine that their future could be different? He brings lived experience, product vision, and a commitment to building a new model for trauma recovery around hope, agency, and dignity.
Holds the Foundation's finances and brings veteran leadership to decisions about who the work reaches first. CEO of Hullo Ferries and a Royal Navy veteran.
Advises on scaling operations across borders, the practical constraint on reaching people outside the United States. Senior global growth executive at Payoneer, and former FIDF.
Brings clinical judgement about military and veteran trauma into governance. Psychiatrist, UN advisor, and former head of mental health for the Canadian Armed Forces.
Brings philanthropic experience and a working understanding of how a story reaches the people who need to hear it. Vice chairman of the Berrie Foundation and an Emmy-winning producer.
Presses the commercial questions a nonprofit still has to answer if it intends to fund itself rather than fundraise indefinitely. Technology entrepreneur and investor.
Brings product and operations discipline to how the Foundation plans work, and to whether it delivers what it said it would. Technology founder and COO at In Another Dimension.
Much of the Foundation's network arrived through introductions rather than outreach. He works in strategic relationship-building and trusted partnerships.
What if an idea we believe in does not survive the evidence?
Clinical Development Board
Believing an idea could work is not evidence that it does. These clinicians and researchers bring scrutiny to how the intervention is designed, studied and deployed, including telling us when something isn't ready.
The board is chaired from inside the Foundation and includes clinicians, researchers and legal counsel from outside it. Investigators who lead individual studies are named with their projects instead, since a research collaborator is not a member of this board. See the projects →
Chairs the board and is responsible for clinical design and implementation inside the platform. Clinical psychologist specializing in complex PTSD.
Clinical psychologist and neuroscientist specializing in trauma and PTSD. Brings the scientific standard the intervention has to meet before it can claim anything.
Expert in military mental health and trauma care, and a director of the Foundation. Brings clinical judgement about veteran and service trauma to how the work is deployed.
Brings clinical experience of hope and prognosis in serious illness, and of suicide prevention. Oncologist, founder of the Shaare Zedek Oncology Center and Lifesdoor.org.
Psychiatrist and head of Sunnybrook's Suicide Prevention Research Collaborative. Brings scrutiny of risk, safety and what a digital intervention must not do.
Physician, healthcare executive and founder of WellMed. Brings the question of how an intervention reaches people at scale through real care delivery rather than a pilot.
Executive director at STAR Network and a trauma and CPTSD specialist. Brings experience of recovery models built around peers rather than clinicians.
Clinical researcher who leads trauma and resilience research with Dr. Neria at Columbia and NYSPI. Brings the practical discipline of running studies to protocol.
Healthcare attorney and health care partner at Manatt. Covers ethics, legal and compliance, including where the Foundation may not go and what it cannot claim.
Leads product development and translates the clinical frameworks the board reviews into the experience a person actually meets.
Leadership
These are the people turning the Foundation's questions into solutions, research and programs that can reach real people in need.
Omer leads MyWhatIf's vision, product, partnerships, and strategy. His background spans technology, storytelling, and creative innovation, grounded in decades of lived experience with trauma. He founded MyWhatIf around the idea that language can help reshape how we imagine the future, and that AI can make deeply personalized narrative experiences accessible at scale.
Turns clinical design into something a person can use. A product strategist focused on mental-health products that pair new technology with behavioral insight.
Leads the clinical design of the experience, including the judgement about what does not belong in it. A clinical psychologist specializing in complex PTSD.
Builds the systems the intervention runs on. Full-stack and AI engineering from startup to enterprise, and co-founder of a generative AI company.
Responsible for the predictive processing and world models the intervention is built on.
Builds and maintains the AI systems the intervention runs on.
Runs the Foundation's operations, which is what turns a research and product roadmap into work that ships.
Clinical neuroscientist and head of the Ben-Zion Resilience and Recovery Lab. Brings evidence on how recovery actually unfolds after trauma, and on what can be measured.
It took more people than fit on an org chart.
MyWhatIf has been shaped by people who gave their time, expertise, questions and perspective at different moments along the way. Some solved a problem. Some challenged an assumption. Some opened a door. Some helped us see the work differently.
These are contributions of work and thinking, not financial contributions. Donors and funding partners are recognized separately. This is a partial list.
What if what you know could help shape what comes next?
Most of the people who built MyWhatIf did not wait for a job description.
They saw something they believed could matter and found a way to contribute. There is still much more to build: studies to run, technology to develop, and communities we have not yet reached.
There are many ways to help build what comes next.
What do you bring?
